Veterans express readiness to assist Nigeria on current security threats
Retired Army, Navy and Air Force Officers (RANAO) Association have expressed their readiness to assist the country on its current security threats and challenges.
The veterans made the pledged in a press statement made available to newsmen in Jos through their Secretary-General, Major Gabriel Ado’ufikwu (rtd).
The veterans, who recently gathered in Kaduna for their 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM), elected their new executive officers that would run the affairs of the association for two years, expressed worry over the country’s security disposition in recent times.
They pledged to give their contributions in terms of information gathering and useful suggestions that could help the security operatives succeed in their task at keeping the peace of the nation.
According to the statement, the colossal loss witnessed in terms of lives and property due to the activities of criminals and other disgruntled elements within and outside the country, “is unacceptable, and must be stopped.”
The statement indicated that the veterans were also enlightened by Maj-Gen Ishola Williams, who presented a special lecture on security and the need for the veterans not to fold their arms and watch the nation polluting.
