Uneasy calm as Army brutally kills 3, injures 1 in Kaduna
There was apprehension and uneasy calm in Kaduna, Friday morning, following the brutal killing of a civilian by an Army officer attached to Command Secondary School Kaduna.
The incident, which occurred around 9pm at Command Junction, along Kachia Road, at by-pass, allegedly lead to the killing of two other young boys, who are resident of the area.
An eyewitness said the military man fired and killed one 34 years old jobless Solomon Andy, who hails from Akwa-Ibom, while he was evacuating sand from gutter between Command Secondary School fence and Television burial ground.
The eyewitness also said the two other boys were reportedly shot to death by soldiers in the process of seeking for the killer-soldier by youths, who mobilized from the nearest community in Television village.
Even though peace was said to have returned to the area, it was learnt that youth from the community are still mobilizing, and may attack the soldiers for killing innocent persons unjustly and ruthlessly.
Findings revealed that the incident may aggravate if roughly handled, following the insinuation going on by ‘Area Boys’ that the killer-soldier is a Muslim, who is unmindful of knowing or pitting any bloody civilians in an area with hundred percent Christian-dominated community.
At the time of filing this report, one Samson Andy, who is younger brother of the deceased and, who confirmed the allegations, said they were at Television Police Station to formally lodge the report, and also that his late brother was frog-jumped before being shot to death by the officer, who allegedly acted under the influence of hard drugs. He also said innocent people passing through the area were still being molested by the stern-looking military personnel.
