Uncovered: New ‘Obalende’ With Juvenile Girls Lights Up Night Life In Kaduna
Even though the much talked about popular ‘Obalende,’ which many socialists knew for decades in Kaduna North area of the Kaduna metropolis, may have gone and forgotten, courtesy of the new government, the new uncovered Obalende(s) have continued to light up night life steadily in the state.
Closed down on assumption of office, under the present Governor Ahmed Nasir El-Rufai-led administration to secure and provide ventilation for primary and post primary educations’ premises in the state, the collapse of the old Obalende Night Club might have given rise to the new ones, coupled with the current hardship.
A few months after the old one was shut down, a new ‘Obalende’ has sprang up within the metropolis, according to informant, accommodating near infants in attendance. Heartwarming in the new ‘Obalende,’ therefore, is that it’s a full package and appears to have come to stay.
A booming environment for ‘procreation’ and social calamities it is, as juvenile girls, who escape parents’ homes for sex-for-money to meet up with current challenges, get impregnated unwontedly.
Our correspondent affirmatively gathered that the New ‘Obalende,’ located at the outskirts of a popular Barnawa area of Kaduna South local government, is as old as its counterparts in Waff Road, etc., inside Kaduna town.
More like heaven-on-earth for young ladies and those, who cherish them, it’s indeed, as but a “home away from home” for people, who share the same habitation and fun. Full of luxury cars, a self-created social center, the New ‘Obalende’ has continued to reduce in customers, who flock to other social gardens within the areas.
While growing steadily in population of new ‘converts’ on daily basis, regular customers have continued to maintain their steady flow to the “haven,” with different modifications and peculiarities as life gets harder.
Incidentally, the New ‘Obalende’ seems to be gathering more strength – with chummy girls and good-looking patronage of babes, giving the arena an unprecedented patronage over the year.
Populated with juveniles, many experts have ascribed the inclination to the continued hardship brought to bear on many families by the current economic reality of the President Muhammad Bahari-led administration and down the ladder.
Located along Gwari Avenue, at numbers 5-8, the night life street has assumed the only hottest known spot hitting up the area for now in terms of patronage and ‘quick service’ and, being regarded as second to none in terms of gathering of beautiful ladies, the nightlife in the Gwari Avenue cut across two main hotels – a stone-throw from the popular Television Garage, otherwise known as “Yam Market,” Norvin and Accord Hotels, respectively, are the names of two main social centers, whose premises are activated and serve as main-bowls that play host to the ‘ladies in jungle.’
Here, too, the young girls lay siege for men, and make sure that as early as 6:30 pm, they are there, and remain vigil till night, in search of sexual partners for a token. At the scarce of guys, some ladies even embark on serious road walks or parade in the areas to attract attention of passersby and (would-be) lovers, while others stand still and wait – a characteristic of the old ‘Obalende.’
The environments of the two known hotels are, therefore, heavily patronized by men, women and girls, including young and old customers, nosing around for sex. And, while some make N5,000 upwards in a night, some go home with a token in exchange for sex to make an end meet.
Funny indeed, is the unusual story credited to the hotels’ staffs interviewed, who have alleged that many young girls have been put into the family way from the place, as a result of unwanted pregnancies; and that, a good number of them now battle for money for the feeding of their children as single mothers.
An eye witness said the new Kaduna Obalende came up almost immediately after the current government assumed office, with severe hardship resulting from hike in fuel price and its attendant increase in prices of food stuffs, provisions and other essential commodities.
A ‘quick service’ centre of money making ventures, the Gwari Avenue is now conveniently described by many as “Sex Avenue.” For those familiar with the scenario, sex activities are based on bargaining, and the payment ranges from between N500 to N1000 per hour, depending on the strength and time spent. This amount is, however, different from the N500:00 cost of a room, which most often, turns out to be something like “pay as you go” charge for sex services.
Although, permanent accommodations are readily available for most of the girls, those, who can afford to cope with full night sex, operate and leave in Norvin Hotel for daybreaks, the juveniles on the other hand, retire back to their homes between the hours of 9-10pm and 10:30pm at most, after attending to the numbers of men they could carry; whereas, the sex machines and club ladies, who could cope, but may not be lucky to grab men, disappear into various club houses around Barnawa and environs to spend the remaining nights, catching fun.
For those leaving with their parents, they rely on “short times” and have to ‘grab’ any man, at whatever cost, to fair themselves back home, if need be, before midnight hours; and a majority of these teenage girls fall within this category, as they hardly have the energy to withstand rigours of sex.
Girls, who obliged information to our correspondent, claimed they leave around the area, while some others came from far and near for the rendezvous from neighbouring towns and villages like TV Village, Kakuri, Barnawa, Sabo, Romi, Down-Quarters Kaduna, Kano, Kaduna main town, among other places, including Muhammadu Buhari Way Kaduna.
It is interesting to note that, for fear of molestation and lock-outs by parents or guardians, the juvenile girls most times go for cheap sex to enable them return back home in good time – absolutely, to fetch as low as 300-500 naira and run back home early. When this happens, they dangle sex and collect any amount to be able to transport themselves back home. Indeed, the juveniles, therefore, hardly accept ‘daybreak’ arrangements with any guy, no matter how much one may be willing to offer them.
Men, it was learnt, at times punctured their condoms to have sex with juveniles without the ladies’ knowledge, resulting to unwanted pregnancies and giving of birth to ‘fatherless’ babies. Virginity also becomes an issue – as cases of blood stains on hotel bed-sheets have consistently been decried by those, who manage it and provide accommodation for ‘short timers’ and sold beers.
Issues of sex without money to pay for it, disagreements, fighting and seizures of properties, especially handset, comes up almost on regular basis between ‘customers.’ Accordingly, HIV/AIDS infection and spread are sure bankers, as sex without condoms (Direct Entry) attracts extra charges or bills by interested girls and partners.
