Sango Emerges New PDP Chairman In Plateau State
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State has elected new Excos to run the affairs of the party in the state. Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Hon. Damishi T. Sango, emerged as the State PDP chairman, after defeating Hon Bitrus Kaze, a former member of the House of Representatives.
Hon Damishi Sango got 758 votes cast to defeat Hon Bitrus Kaze, who got 222, while Hon Phillip Aduku got zero votes.
Conscience Triumph gathered that the PDP State Congress held Tuesday at Treasure Inn, along Jonah Jang Road Jos, Plateau State, was free and fair.
In his acceptance speech, Hon Damishi Sango promised supporters that the party would bounce back to reclaim the state. He eulogized Senators Jeremiah Useni and Jonah David Jang for conducting a hitch-free State Congress, which produced him and other 25 state Excos to run the affairs of the state.
According to him, “The period of politicking is over; we need to come together and join hands and reorganize grassroots politics, because PDP did a lot in the development of Nigeria.” Hon Sango attributed that, PDP is not dead in the state, but only went on what he called ‘sabbatical leave.’ “So, we are going to embark on a true reconciliation,” Sango asserted.
The former Governor, Jonah Jang, said, “The state is a PDP state; so the party will bounce back in 2019 because we are prepared to deliver the state;” and urged the people of the state to continue to dialogue for its progress. Senator Jang said that the new Exco team is a clinch of grassroots politicians, who are in touch with their supporters to crush the opposition in 2019 general elections.
Lt-General (Sen.) Jeremiah Timbut Useni expressed confidence in the ability of the chairmanship of Hon Damishi Sango in moving the structure of the party to the next level. He called on those that left PDP to come back home and build the party, rather than stay away and allow others to benefit from it.
