PLATEAU STATE: 4 Abductors ‘Abducted’ by Car Crash
Newly inaugurated management committee chairman of Jos East Local Government Council, Hon Hosea Azi, has been killed in a ghastly motor accident around Keffi in Nasarawa state.
The deceased was reportedly abducted by unknown persons on gunpoint, four of whom were also killed in the accident along with Hon Azi. The body of the late committee chairman has been recovered with that of the kidnappers in Keffi, Nasarawa state.
The late Hosea Azi was kidnapped in Jos South LGA at his residence by unknown gun men. The abductors had abandoned the chairman’s car at Rantya, in the state low-cost housing estate in Jos, before fleeing him in their own vehicle.
The late chairman was appointed and sworn-in about a week ago by Governor Simon Lalong of plateau state for his contributions towards the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, following the removal of Hon Sanda Agwom Daura as the former caretaker committee chairman of Jos East LGC.
The spokesman of the Operation Safe Heaven, Capt Ikedichi Iweha, advised residents of Plateau state to be very careful and maintain vigilance of security threats in the state.
The appointment came as a result of security reports, which led to the replacement of the former management committee chairman of Jos East LGC.
Speaking to Conscience Triumph correspondent, the PPRO, plateau state police command, DSP Abuh Emmanuel, said the body of late committee was discovered in Nasarawa state and his car was still parked around the state Low-cost.
He advised the general public to be careful and report any suspected movement of persons to the nearest police station for quick rescue.
