Plateau Assembly earmarks 10 billion naira for developmental projects
The 10 billion naira loan requested by the state governor, Simon Lalong, to be used for developmental projects in the state, has been approved by the plateau state House of Assembly.
The approval was followed by the adoption of the House Standing Committee of Finance headed by Hon. Amos. V. Kumtul, a member representing Langtang North central.
Conscience Triumph learnt that, earlier, the governor had communicated the House last week for the request of 10 billion naira excess crude account loan as collateral, to be used specifically for developmental projects in the state.
The House had earlier deliberated on the issue, where they asked the governor to what developmental projects it intends to do with the money when approved.
Some members the House observed that, in the past, the House had approved loans to the state governor, but were not satisfied with the way the loans were utilized.
In this vein, the House invited the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and the Accountant-General of the state to appear before the committee of finance to furnish it with details of the projects the government intends to use the money for.
