New Kaduna PPRO Seeks Media Collaboration In Fighting Crimes
Newly appointed Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Kaduna state police command, ASP Aliyu Usman, has sought for media support in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.
Usman sought for the support on Monday when he visited the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kaduna state Council, saying “We want to seek for your cooperation to work effectively in the state.”
He called on the media practitioners to always verify crime news before they report, as his office is open to always provide adequate information that would aid their reportage for members of the public. He said, “Cooperate with us like the way you cooperated with my immediate past PPRO, so that we can collectively make Kaduna better and safer for all of us. Guide me wherever I go wrong; my office is open for you, feel free to come or call me.”
In his remarks, the out gone PPRO, Zubairu Abubakar, who is now promoted to SP (Superintendent of Police), thanked the state journalists for the support he gained when he was PPRO. He said, “I must confess that I thanked God with the cooperation you gave me during my tenure. I thank God with the people I worked with and I hope you will give my successor all the cooperation you gave me.
While making his remarks, NUJ Chairman, Comrade Muhammad Garba, said, having recognized the importance of the media, the state council would continue to support the police course in the fight against crimes in the state so as to improve the security level in the state
