N10 million ransom awaits persons with useful info on killers of Saf Ron-Kulere
The sum of N10 million has been placed as Ransom for anyone with useful information of the killers of the First-class Chief of Bokkos local government council, Saf Ron-Kulere, Da Lazarus Agai.
This was disclosed by the plateau state governor, Barr. Simon Lalong, when he played host to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIGP) in-charge of Zone 4, Agboola Oshodi Glover, at Government House Little Rayfield, Jos, on Wednesday.
While addressing the officers of the command, the AIGP said the ransom is a welcome development, and payment is part of the police law to use funds in getting useful information that can unravel the truth.
According to him, the ethno-religious, communal clashes, herdsmen/farmers’ disputes remain a serious concern but commended the officers for their sacrifices and cooperation with the Commissioner of Police in the state towards ensuring that the state becomes competent in governance.
He urged them to remain dogged and be disciplined in carrying out their assignments, adding that, they need to be civil in their approach and effectively put to use adequate community policing.
The AIGP assured the police that, their welfare will be given topmost priority and those, who put in their best, would soon be recommended for promotion, while those found on the wanted list would surely be punished.
While commending the Inspector-General of Police, the AIGP also gave complements of officers and men of the force and urged them to respect their duty and copy good deeds from their leaders. He encouraged them to rob minds with other security agencies to reach certain level of success in their operatives.
In responding, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Adekunle Oladumjoye, assured that it will stop nothing towards ensuring that the killers of the First-class Chief of Bokkos, Saf Ron-Kulere, are arrest and punished.
He said some major parts of the state are enjoying relative peace at the moment, except challenges of culpable homicide, robbery, religious intolerance and some pockets of crimes that have gripped the command, while appealing for the supply of gadgets to the command to enable officers to be effectively proactive.
