Malaria Kills 22,000 in Kano – Commissioner
Kano state government has made an archive of about 22,000 deaths in 2015 due to malaria attacks.
Commissioner for health, Dr Kabiru Getso, who disclosed this at a news conference in Kano to mark the World Malaria Day, said that the number of deaths in the state was high because of environmental challenges, which has become a major health concern of the state.
“The present administration recently purchased N59 million worth of items to curb
malaria in the state, and these include malaria test machines, drugs as well as mosquitoes nets.” Getso also said that the state had embarked on special training of health workers from the 44 local government areas on malaria management.
