Kano Supports Grazing Reserve to End Fulani-Farmers Clashes
Worried by the incessant clashes between farmers and Fulani herdsmen across the country – resulting to lost of lives, Kano State government has reiterated its determination to support current effort by the Federal Government to carve out grazing reserves for herdsmen across the country.
Director of Press to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Aminu Yassar, who disclosed this to journalists recently, said that the idea, which was borrowed from Kano, remained the best step towards addressing incessant clashes between farmers and herdsmen.
Yassar said: “The whole concept of grazing reserves was an idea muted by Kano State government as a proactive step to resolve incessant clashes between herdsmen and farmers, and we are fully behind the Federal Government.” Yassar explained that several grazing reserves had been earmarked along cattle routes
