Kaduna State Government Demolishes Structures At Millennium City
Team members of the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency (KASUPDA) on Tuesday stormed Hayin dan Bushiya, a community in the Millennium city layout of Kaduna state, demolishing some houses around the area.
It would be recalled that the Kaduna state government of Nasir El-Rufai started the demolition exercise in Zaria city in August, 2015, when about 93 houses were demolished at the Alhudahuda College area, while the next phase of the exercise took place in October, 2015 – where over 100 shops were demolished around the popular Printer’s Village within Kaduna city.
The KASUPDA team was seen accompanied by seven Hilux vans of Operation Yaki filled with heavily armed security personnel, while youths around the community gathered to watch helplessly as the demolition exercise took place.
According to the government, reason for pulling down structures within the state was to recover lands belonging to public institutions and government.
