Kaduna Police Caution Residents On New Tactics Of Robbery, As It Parades 36 Criminals
The Kaduna state Police Command has paraded 36 suspected criminals, who were arrested for various criminal offences, ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery and rape, among others in the state.
Briefing newsmen on Thursday at the Command’s headquarters, the state commissioner of police, Agyole Abeh, said, “In pursuant to the fulfillment of my commitment to bring crime to its barest minimum in Kaduna State, within the last few weeks, our vigorous fight has paid off – with the arrest of 36 suspects in connection with armed robbery, gang-rape, kidnapping, drugs peddling and Sara-Suka.”
“I want to use this opportunity to caution residents about a new trend of crime adopted by armed robbers, where they appear as ‘dignitaries’ paying visit to residents and then swiftly deceive watchmen to open gates for their ingress and, subsequently, launch a silent attack on the dwellers/owners of such houses.
“The Command, therefore, wishes to advice residents to be mindful of the intellectual aptitude of the watchmen they hire, in order to avert experiencing such robbery trends.
“At the same time, households should train watchmen and other domestic servants on the appropriate steps for verifying the identity of any stranger before permitting such person(s) into their premises,” he explained.
Abeh however reiterated the Command’s efforts in fighting all forms of crimes and criminality in the state.
