Kaduna Kidnapped Students, Lecturer Regain Freedom
Two students and a lecturer of School of Midwifery, Tudun Wada, Kaduna, who were abducted on Friday by kidnappers along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road, have regained their freedom.
Samuel Aruwan, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, disclosed this in a terse statement issued Sunday.
According to Aruwan, “The two students and the lecturer are in good condition and have since reunited with their families. The Kaduna State Government commends security agencies and community leaders for the sustained efforts that led to their freedom.”
A large number of Nigerians have fallen victims of kidnappers within the shore of Kaduna state in this month of June alone, in which Nigeria Police was recently accused by concerned citizens of complicity. The citizens, at a press conference held last two weeks, also called for the removal of the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna command, for his being incompetent to handle the state.
