Kaduna APC Top Shots Absence From Grand-Breaking Ceremony of Galaxy Mall by El-Rufai
State Executives and top shots of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Kaduna State chapter, were conspicuously absent yesterday at the programme of event for the official Grand Breaking of Galaxy Mall and Galleria ceremony in Kaduna, in which the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, attended as a special guest of honor.
Among few state APC big time politicians in attendance were, Sen. Suleiman Utman Hunkiyi of Kaduna North and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly. However, Senators Shehu Sani, Danjuma Lar and the APC Chairman/Excos were absent, indicating that the meeting organized by national body of the party to reconcile different factions was a failure.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Vice President reiterated that the only way to make Nigeria great again is a root-out corruption from the country. According to him, the only panacea for ensuring the growth and development of Nigeria is to put a stop to corruption, adding that he was happy Nigerians can see from what is happening in the country that the present administration is committed to ending corruption.
At the occasion, which included the foundation-laying ceremony of 2000 civil servants’ housing units as well as the Galaxy Mall and Galleria within Kaduna metropolis, Professor Osinbajo re-emphasised that, “the APC is confident in the ability of the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, to deliver the change the party stands for.”
The VP further said that, “In the last election, APC promised change, and the people voted for us because they believed in change and they want change, and change is already taking place in Kaduna.”
He explained that the projects – the Housing Units, the Mall and Galleria and others – shows that change has come to Kaduna; adding that change is possible, and the APC government is ready to serve the people.
Osinbajo posited that Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, represents the change that APC is talking about, and that he believes strongly that Kaduna State will be great again.
He said, “The facilities that will be here will create jobs for the people, and that is so important because as a government we promised to create jobs.”
The VP also said the first 2 million jobs that will be created by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration will be in the area of teaching.
In his words, “We want to ensure the enabling environment and capital for business people. Nigeria can be great if we end corruption, and you can see that this government will fight corruption. Government believes that Nigeria has the resources for us all to live reasonably comfortable.
“I believe in El-Rufai, that, anything he says he would do it. El-Rufai is a man of his words, and am looking forward to coming here to commission this project when it is completed,” he said, adding that he wouldn’t have been in Kaduna for the ceremony if it were not for (the sake of) El-Rufai.
He commended the Kaduna State Government and the State House of Assembly for collaborating for the rapid growth and development of the state. “Am happy with the relationship between the executive and the legislature in Kaduna State, and President Muhammadu Buhari will be excited with what is happening in Kaduna,” he said.
