Islamic Cleric Faults El-Zakzaky, Says “Action Deviation of Registered Shi’a Organisation’
An Islamic cleric, Sheik Saleh Zaria, has described the action of embattled leader of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and his supporters in Zaria as complete deviation of the registered Shi’a organisation in the country.
Sale Zaria made the remark at a one-day interactive session with RASULUL A’AZAM FOUNDATION (RAAF) (Registered Shi’a organisation), Journalists, Security agents and other stakeholders in Kano state.
He said RAAF, as a registered Shi’a organisation with the Corporate Affairs Commission under CAMA, part C, with registration Number 18246, was against lawlessness and disrespect to constituted authority.
“We denounce any action by any person or group, which goes contrary to the laws of the country. We are also against the idea of procession or blocking road for other users, terrorism and sedition,” he said.
The cleric said members of RAAF would continue to operate within the ambit of the law of the land, seek redress instead of taking law into their hands, for peaceful coexistence in the country. He said the interactive session was organised to build cordial relationship between the Shi’a group and security agencies.
According to him, “The idea behind the forum is to enlighten participants on what Shi’a ideology is, as well as how Shi’a and secular state co-exist, and to sensitise participants on the contribution of Shi’ism in nation building,” he said. The occasion was attended by representatives of the Police, DSS and journalists, among other stakeholders.
