Governor Lalong vows to recover stolen mandate
Governor Simon Lalong has vowed never to sleep until he recovers the stolen mandate from the former governor, Jonah David Jang.
He made this known while addressing his party supporters at Government House Little Rayfield in Jos on Wednesday, shortly after his return from holy pilgrimage in Israel.
The All Progressive Congress supporters besieged the new Government House at Little Rayfield to welcome the Governor from his trip and to witness the celebration of the landslide victory of the APC as declared by the Election Tribunal of 26th Oct, 2015.
The Goemai Cultural Development Association (GUDO) with their masquerade to entertain, and those present, include, Ambassador Yahaya Kwande, APC Chairman Latep Dabang, federal House of Reps members, House of Assembly and the management committee chairmen.
The governor thanked the Almighty God for his victory at election tribunal and the good people of Plateau state for standing with the APC government.
He congratulated the people of Plateau state on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari for extending their hands of fellowship to the state.
According to him, God will never disappoint the people of Plateau, when he has pronounced the winner.
Barr Lalong further said, “I promise not to wear big clothes again, because work will soon commence across the state and we shall be paying a thank-you-visit to the people of Plateau who voted us into power,” adding that, “when we came into power, the conditions of the civil servants was so deplorable, but now work had resumed in all the nooks and crannies of the state.”
The governor further emphasized that, “we have done our very best for peace to return in state; for those who refuse to listen, we will soon go after them.”
Lalong commended the media for partnering with the government to achieve total peace in the state.
He assured those who work for the victory of the party that they will benefit from the government of change, which is their slogan.
Chairman Latep Dabang thanked the APC supporters for the victory at the tribunal, while urging them to see the judgment as God’s divine favour.
He also commended the party supporters for demonstrating their faithfulness to the party by coming to welcome the Governor from the Holy Land where he went to pray for the return of peace in the state.
Dabang promised to deliver their campaign promises to the people of Plateau state to benefit from the administration of Barr Simon Lalong.
He expressed confidence on the tribunal chairman for taking his time to digest on the judgment, stressing further that PDP’s hope of getting the victory was an imagination when he listened to lawyers’ final argument.
